K’oyitl’ots’ina’s Shareholders

In recognizing and understanding the importance of education and the positive impact to society and shareholders, the K’oyitl’ots’ina Settlement Trust offers scholarships to full time and part time students. Furthermore, the elders of the Koyukuk River always stress the importance of getting an education.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

To be eligible, students must:

  1. Be a K’oyitl’ots’ina Settlement Trust shareholder.

  2. Be accepted to an accredited college, university, technical, or vocational school.

  3. Have a cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.0 or higher (first time students are exempt).

  4. First time students must provide letter of acceptance instead of transcripts.

 

FULL TIME STUDENTS

 

$12,500 is divided equally among qualified applicants twice annually: fall and spring semesters.

 

To be considered a full time student:

  1. Undergraduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) credits.

  2. Graduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credits or be recognized as full time by a graduate program.

  3. Vocational students must be enrolled in a minimum of fifteen (15) hours per week from an accredited institution.

 

PART TIME STUDENTS

 

$400 will be provided to each qualified applicant twice annually: fall and spring semesters.

 

To be considered a part time student:

  1. Undergraduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of five (5) credits.

  2. Graduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of four (4) credits.

  3. Vocational students must be enrolled in a minimum of five hours per week from an accredited institution.

 

Part time students may receive scholarships for a maximum of seven (7) years or fourteen (14) semesters.

 

Scholarships are awarded on a yearly basis, good for the following fall and spring semester.

 

IMPORTANT DATES

 

July 15 – Deadline to Apply

August 5 – Transcripts due from previous semester.

January 5 – Transcripts due from previous fall semester.

 

If a student starts school in the spring semester, the deadline to apply is December 15.

 

K’oyitl’ots’ina Settlement Trust does not provide a summer scholarship.

 

Scholarship checks will be mailed directly to the school’s financial aid office.
